Canarian Cuisine
In the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, we find a variety of cuisines, but first and foremost, let’s start with the traditional Gran Canaria cuisine restaurants. If you’d like to explore typical dishes, we recommend checking out our section on Canarian cuisine.
Te lo Dije Pérez

A brewery that offers more than 100 varieties of beer, but beyond that, it also features delicious typical dishes of Canarian cuisine. Personally, I would highlight their chickpea stew (garbanzada), goat meat ropa vieja, and almogrote. It’s one of the few places in Las Palmas where you can enjoy a pint of Czech Republic beer.
El Deseo

A bar serving excellent tapas located on one of the liveliest streets in the center of Vegueta. It is renowned for its cod omelette, but there is also an option for a mix of traditional tapas. In addition to Canarian dishes, they offer typical Italian cuisine.
Bodegón Lagunetas

Bodegón Lagunetas offers a wide variety of traditional dishes, but what stands out about this place is that they provide a reasonably priced menu that tends to change daily.
Bodegón Pachichi

A traditional tavern that has been popular in the city for decades, offering a wide array of tapas, affordable drinks, and featuring some well-known dishes such as wrinkled potatoes with homemade mojo sauce or chorizo cooked over an open flame, which not only tastes delicious but also provides a spectacle with the flames.
Restaurante Tasca Galileo

A highly frequented spot, so it’s recommended to arrive early to secure a table. It offers a wide variety of typical Spanish tapas, and personally, I would highlight the grilled cheese with jam, one of the best I’ve seen on the island.
Best Paella in Las Palmas
Many people ask me about a place to enjoy good paella, a dish that is generally not cooked in the traditional way. Recently, I discovered a restaurant specializing in rice dishes where there was a variety of paellas available.
El Arrosar

A Galician restaurant that not only offers a wide variety of seafood but also has a diverse selection of rice dishes, including the traditional paella.
Sea Food in Las Palmas
Many people seek to eat fish when they visit the island. In the case of Las Palmas city, there has always been a fishing tradition and various neighborhoods, with a large number of restaurants offering fresh fish.
La Marinera

It is one of the most renowned restaurants in Las Palmas, located at the end of Las Canteras Beach in an area known as La Puntilla. It consistently offers a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood, though it may not be the most economical option. The restaurant features a beautiful dining area with sea views.
El Dorado

Located on Las Canteras Avenue, this place offers a wide variety of tapas and fresh seafood. It has a terrace and is usually very popular, drawing frequent visitors.
Ribera del Rio Miño

A restaurant near Las Canteras Beach that specializes in high-quality seafood, particularly lobsters, spider crabs, or lobster amonst many others types of seafood. It is a representation of Galician cuisine in our city.
